Spring Bulbs

Last Fall I transplanted lots and lots of bulbs to this corner area of our hard.

Or, at least I thought I did…  This spring, I’ve been finding bulbs all over the yard!  I guess I will be doing more transplanting after these bulbs bloom!

Small Project #1 – Completed!

If you remember this earlier post, I mentioned that Mike and I were only going to work on small projects this year.  We made a list and guess what, we have one project completed.
Sidney’s job:  Purchase the wood, have it cut, clean out the closet
Mike’s job:  Build the shelves

I asked Mike to smile, and he gave me this look.

There is Hope!!!

Yesterday, I noticed that our tulips are starting to push through the soil.  I am so glad I planted bulbs.  They are the HOPE that lets me know spring is near!   I’ve been antsy the past week or two and I am READY FOR SPRING!!!  Our tulip door decoration will be going up tomorrow morning.  I can’t wait for warm weather, being outside, working in the yard, and of course, the pool opening!

Brandon Goes to Prom!

Brandon went to Junior Prom last evening.  Keeping in line with tradition, he stopped by Granny’s house before he went.

Quilt Tops I've Made and Sold

I just like to keep a record of the quilt tops that I make to sell.
Here are a few that are listed on Etsy, have sold, or will be listed shortly.

Probably my least favorite quilt top.  It has been listed a couple of times, but hasn't sold.  I think it is because it wouldn't even fit on a twin size bed.  It is more of a large lap size quilt top.
Someday I will have it out of my inventory!

I call this quilt top Aimee's Garden.  The light pastels are darling.  It is a fund quilt top!

A brown orchid Irish Chain.  I loved the floral fabric and have just been
waiting to find the right pattern.  The Irish Chain worked!

This pink and green Irish Chain is darling.  I love the way it turned out.  Sometimes, pictures don't do the quilt justice.  This is one of those times.

Pink & Yellow Quilt.  This turned out beautiful and I love the fabric line.
I'm making a second quilt that I will list on Etsy as well.

The Second Time Around

Do you remember this quilt?

http://www.mikesidney.blogspot.com/2011/09/completed-scrappy-quilt.html

Well, I wasn't pleased with how I had asked to have it quilted.  I liked the back of the quilt, because it was off white flannel with this nice design (shown below).

The brown stitching showed up too much on the front and I didn't like the design on the front.  This had nothing to do with the individual who quilted my quilt, it had everything to do with how I asked her to quilt it.

As a result, I made a SECOND QUILT and had it quilted the way I wanted.  Here's it is!

I LOVE THIS QUILT and use it all the time!
