We Like Kevin!

Subject One - Weeds
Remember this pile of weeds from last week? (We actually had three weed piles, but this was the largest.)

Thanks to our nephew Kevin, the three piles are gone. Two truckloads packed tight, now at the landfill. Yea!!! How lucky could we be? Kevin just volunteered to come over and load up the truck while he was down here in Blanding for a couple of days. Mike didn't even make it out to help until going to the dump on the first load. We can't thank him enough. (Kevin is also the one who mowed down the weeds a few weeks ago. I'm wondering.... what other projects do we have for him?!?)

Kevin working hard!

Kevin relaxing - he deserved it!
Kevin & Mike with the second load.
Second Subject... Our Garden!

We really have corn growing.
I am amazed as I have never grown corn.

Red tomatoes - the big ones.
We picked our first three this week
and had tomato sandwiches for dinner.
Hummm, hummm Good!

Blanding Update...

Mike and I were excited to return to Blanding to see how things had been progressing. Overall, our yard looks good. We have items growing in our garden....

We have GRASS!!! (I even mowed it Monday morning!)

Check out the 'before picture' here.

I have become the sprinkling system expert. Just before leaving for vacation we figure out that there was also a sprinkling system on the east side of the driveway. I've been repairing the sprinklers and Mike...

... Well Mike has been hand digging out weeds. He loves it! Mike so enjoys working out in the yard. While there may be easier ways to remove weeds, he prefers digging them out by hand.

Notice the BIG pile of weeds. It is taller than Mike now!

Someday, we'll have grass in this area.

The Rest of the Vacation!

We concluded our vacation in Lake Tahoe...

Mike swimming at the motel pool - our car and room are behind him.

Ice Cream!!!
We visited every ice cream shop we could find during our vacation.
There were several fun shops along the coast.

Mike is Parasailing!!!

Mike's landing - he didn't even get wet!
