Spontaneous Monday
Scenario: Mike and I are driving around town running errands...
Mike: "I'm ready for a road trip to Seattle or Houston. Let's leave right now."
Sidney: "We could go drive to Wendover for their lunch buffet ( 'Buffet' is a MAGIC word to Mike!) or drive up to Evanston."
We chose Evanston... (Better driving scenery!)
What is in Evanston? Not much!
Experiences from our trip...
1. Mike spilled a 44 oz drink in a Park City c-store
2. We drove around downtown Evanston about FIVE times
3. Evanston doesn't have many places to eat - believe it or not, I think Blanding has more options!
4. By virtue of the chinese restaurant being closed, we ended up eating at a GREAT mexican restaurant - Don Pedro - located on Front Street
5. Evanston has a FABRIC STORE!!! I made a purchase
6. TIME TOGETHER!!!
A Funny...
We were at the Chamber of Commerce trying to see if there was anything of interested to see or do in Evanston. Mike ended up in the 'important room'. When he came out he said, "The sheets that you use for drying your hands are the THINNEST I have ever seen. So, I took one as a proof of their thinness." Okay, it may not seem funny to you, but it was to me.
Thus, the only picture I have is of the THIN PAPER TOWEL!!!

Couples Tag
I saw this on Facebook and thought it would be fun for the blog... (I don't really use facebook.)
What are your middle names? Ann, Douglas
How long did you know each other before you started dating? Which time??? We new each other about four weeks when Mike ask me out the first time... The second date didn't happen until 13 months later!
Who asked who out? Mike was a such a gentleman, a REAL MAN, and asked me out!!!
Whose siblings do you see the most? Probably mine, as most of them live in the Salt Lake City.
Do you have any children together? No, but we will in the next life!
What about pets? Nope, just stray cats and watching our birds... Oh, we usually have a rat every summer under our porch that we have to...
Did you go to the same school? Well, we both went to BYU, but not at the same time!
Who is the most sensitive? I'd say Mike is more sensitive. I'm too practical to be sensitive.
Where do you eat out most as a couple? Mi Ranchitos, Chuck-a-rama, and Asian Buffet
Where is the furthest you two have traveled together as a couple? It's probably a tie between our 29 day trip via driving to Alaska or our cruise to the Panama Canal.
Who has the craziest exes? n/a
Who has the worst temper? Neither of us have a temper
Who does the cooking? Sidney does, although recently Mike has come up with a couple of 'gourmet' meals that were actually pretty good!
Who is more social? Sidney
Who is the neat freak? Mike
Who is the most stubborn? Funny this subject would come up. About a month ago, Mike and I had this conversation for the first time and we both thought the other was more stubborn, in some situations. We both had a laugh over this subject!
Who hogs the bed? Definitely Sidney. But, to defend myself... I told Mike prior to our marriage that I slept in the middle of any bed that I was in. He told me that was 'okay' because he always slept on just one side (about 1/3) of the bed and never moved over to the other side. (He had a king size bed!) Only once in a while does he have to ask me to move over so he has more 'room'!
Who wakes up earlier? Definitely Sidney
Where was your first date? We went to lunch at Marie Calendars on Foothill Drive - which has since closed and been remodeled as a Red Robin.
Who has the bigger family? We both have the same number of siblings. Sidney - 4 brothers, Mike - 2 brothers, 2 sisters
Do you get flowers often? I've never had flowers from Mike because I told him that I don't really want to spend our money on something that dies. I'd rather spend our money on VACATIONS - like our trip to Alaska!!!
How long did it take to get serious? About two months after we started dating the second time - although Sidney already knew she was going to marry Mike months and months before our second date.
Who eats more? I'll never tell...

LOL
I love to laugh! (Hey, isn't that the song from Mary Poppins???)
I came home from enrichment last evening on a laughter high! Our service auction provided a lot of laughter among the sisters and it was so refreshing to see how far we've come in a year!(See the benefits of laughter at this article : http://stress.about.com/od/stresshealth/a/laughter.htm
Over the years, I've had many people tell me that they 'love my laugh'. I know that I laugh loudly, but I also laugh heartily!
Even at enrichment last evening, two people made comments about my laughter...
Julie Price (Ward Activities Chairman): "Last Saturday evening [at our ward party] I was wondering if people were having a good time. Then, I heard you laughing and I just had this calming feeling come over me." (Basically, she received her answer via my laughter...)
I was also chatting with Jackie Loosle and Colleen Foote and telling them how much I enjoyed their husbands performance in the sychonized swimming talent act at our ward party on Saturday evening. Jackie said with a smile on her face, "We taped it and watched it four times. We could hear you laughing, and would say, "There's Sidney!!!"
I also remember when I worked at Apple Computer, aka now known only as 'Apple', in Austin, Texas. We had a very open workplace with rows and rows of cubicles. My cubicle was in a far back corner. One day, someone who work on the upper right side of the building said to me, "We can hear you laughing!" I was a little embarrassed, but then he said, "It's a good thing!"
Moral of this post: Take more time to laugh!!!
