Granny with two of her ‘greats’ – Jett & Tenli

We had such an enjoyable time visiting with everyone.  Jett & Tenli brought their scooters over and rode around the church parking lot.  I just failed to get some pictures.

Granny is using the computer!

A few days ago, Granny mentioned to us that she would like to learn how to index on the computer.  She thought that this would be a good way to spend her time. Granny used to participate in extraction several years ago and really enjoyed it.

Today, while Mike was at the Monticello Temple, Sidney began to teach Granny how to index on the computer.  (Granny is indexing US Census records from Maryland.)

Granny indexes using her right hand.  (The fingers on her left hand don’t work that well these days.)

Moral of this post…  If Granny can index, so can you!

Determination…

I am determined to grow grass on the east side of our home.  The past two summers, I have planted grass, and only a little has grown, in patches.

The third time/year is the charm, I hope!  So, I’m going to photograph my progress.  A neighbor has told me that water and weed killer go a long way to growing grass.  So, I’m going to do both diligently this summer.

In the meantime, a lone tulip is growing in the area where I thought I had pulled up all my bulbs last year.  Once this completes it blooming, I will dig it up and replant!

P.S.  By the way, the tar paper is for our shed.  It leaks.  As I’m not too excited about Mike doing the repair, I’m hoping for a little help!

Tar Paper

A couple of weeks ago, a friend suggested the group, Blanding 24/7 to me.  It is a place on Facebook for people in town to place items for sale, things they are looking for, etc.

Mike and I were in need of Tar Paper, about 12 feet long, and we didn’t want to purchase an entire roll, so I decided to see if I could find any on Blanding 24/7.

I did!  And, it was free!

Mike cut off the amount we needed today and we’ll be returning the remainder of the role to the kind individual who gave it to us.

The End.

Project #2 - Check off the list!

Mike finished digging out the stump in the back yard.    It only took about an hour – between Saturday and this morning.  Definitely a DAY Project!
I’ve circled the tree stump in red – look closely!

Saturday Afternoon…

Mike and I worked outside today.  It was a BEAUTIFUL day!  We are not trying to accomplish everything in a day, but a little at a time.

This front corner has been renamed “Garden of Hope”.  Now, the tulips are blooming!

I was given several perennial plants from a friend and I planted them today.  I have no idea how they will look, but I figured that I should get them planted and next year, I can rearrange!   You can’t tell the plants from the weeds, but one day, there will be grass growing up to the perennials!

Today was a beautiful spring day and Mike and I probably have a little sunburn as well.  We hope you had a wonderful spring day too!

Spring Bulbs

Last Fall I transplanted lots and lots of bulbs to this corner area of our hard.

100_4995

Or, at least I thought I did…  This spring, I’ve been finding bulbs all over the yard!  I guess I will be doing more transplanting after these bulbs bloom!
