Vacation Highlights - Part 3

The Drive from Gilbert, Arizona....

We left Gilbert around 11:00am after dropping by the grocery store for food and filling the gas tank. Luckily for us, gas averaged $4.10 a gallon for this trip. A steep increase from our $2.12 - $2.19 when we went to Alaska in July 2005

Rain...

I was always taught that it never rains in the desert. But on this trip, we ran into a few sprinkles and road signs warning us about flash flooding. Mike and I decided that we needed a picture to document our 'rain'.

A couple of miles down the road, we ran into the REAL RAIN, and then we found the 'flash floods'. Again, pictures to document our adventure. (The flooding was no more than 6 inches on the road, so it wasn't too scary!)

Our view going through one of the 'Gully Washes' as Mike called them!

As we reached then end of the rain, we had a beautiful view of the Ajo Mountains (Ajo = Garlic in Spanish).

That's cool that you came down to the Valley... Gilbert is a nice area!! Hey thanks for the dark Karo Syrup tip for Colic! We have actually been doing that the past two weeks... Hopefully this won't last too much longer!
